Shutter problem with Nikon F3. PLEASE help!?
I own a Nikon F3 and I’m having a little problem with it. I own a motor drive, and the Nikon works perfectly when the motor drive is attached, but since the motor drive tends to get really heavy after a while, I’ve decided to manually shoot photos without the motor drive. But when I take the motor drive off, the shutter won’t work! The camera is on and I just put in a fresh new pair of SR44 batteries, but it still won’t work! Could it be time for a professional repair?
It could be. How old is the camera? Did you buy it second hand? If you bought it new, when was the last time the shutter worked without the motor drive? If you bought it used, maybe they knew there was a shutter problem, so that’s why they used a motor drive.
Anyway, there are places that repair good old film cameras. One is Garry’s Camera Repair, but I’m sure there are others too. It might just need a good clean, lube and adjust. Good luck!
