2002 KIA Spectra electrical issue.?
I bought an 02 spectra that had a brand new battery and a dead alternator. I didn’t know the alternator was bad and ran the car for about a week till I found out. Bought a new alternator and replaced it and car ran great for a day or two. Then my battery and brake light came on when the car warmed up and was in idle. Both lights, and ONLY when the car would idle. Seemed to run fine, then on the way home yesterday got stuck in traffic and lights went dim, and radio cut off, but as soon as the RPM’s increased all dash lights and radio come back on. Took it to autozone to check the battery and alternator, both checked out great, just the battery was a little low. Checked all fuses, they look great. Checked battery wiring harness, doesn’t seem to have a problem there.
Any Ideas I’m stumped.
Do you experience these problems only at night?
Did you install the right alternator?
Because it sounds like your alternator is weak. Make sure all connections are tight and you have the right battery and alternator installed in your vehicle.
