silver zinc batteries
Help with Chemistry.?
The zinc-air battery is a less expensive alternative for silver batteries in hearing aids. The cell reaction is shown below.
2 Zn(s) + O2(g) 2 ZnO(s)
A new battery weighs 0.265 g. The zinc accounts for exactly 1/10 of the mass, and the oxygen does not contribute to the mass because it is supplied by the air.
(a) How much electricity (in C) can the battery deliver?
(b) How much free energy (in J) is released if Ecell is 2.3 V?

Weincell MRB400 Z400PX PX400 EPX400 RM400 1.35V Zinc Air Battery $3.95 There are no alkaline cells manufactured of this size and shape. The S400PX cells produce 1.55V which is different from the 1.35V produced by the original PX400 mercury cell. This doesn’t normally cause a problem because today’s films are very tolerant to under-exposure and because the under-exposure is compensated for during printing. (so you would have greater problems if you were using slides)…. |
