Why is my high speed card reader transferring so slow?
I have a high speed Sandisk USB card reader. On my old computer (dell xps 720 with vista 32bit) I could transfer at about 30mbps. I upgraded my computer to a Dell XPS 730x with windows 7 64bit and now the same card reader transfers at about 600kbps (less than 1mbps). If I plug an external hard drive into the same USB port it seems to work fine and transfer fast so it does not appear to be the USB port. What’s going on?
I think the culprit is the Memory card you are using in the card reader….try other memory cards and check it out.
also try the card reader in other computers.
