Toyota Libertyville Dealers Look Forward To Plug-In Prius Sales In 2011
Over the past several years, a lot of things have changed. For instance, I got my wisdom teeth out the other day. Had them for my whole life, and a doctor just comes in and yanks them out. It was for the best anyway, it’s hard to lose a part of yourself like that. It’s even harder not to crack a beer after work, but the thought of dry sockets always pulls me away from that temptation.
But we don’t want to talk about the bad stuff. Let’s focus on the good stuff. My seven year old son played in his first little league baseball game. My daughter took off for her first year of college. I got a promotion, my wife a new job and my sixteen year old son got his first job. A new president took office. The economy is starting to pick back up. And automotive manufacturers are finally beginning to see the error of their ways as we push onward into the twenty-first century.
Specifically, automotive manufacturers are driving themselves out of a ditch, a large carbon footprint, in which they were one of the primary diggers. It all started with the Toyota Prius, which you can find at any Round Lake used cars dealership, and eventually spiraled into a massive movement for an improved environment, a smaller dependence on foreign oil and a better price on the energy we purchase to fuel our rides. The revolution continues at your Toyota Libertyville dealer, where you’ll find that a brand new innovation is on its way, one that will leave Waukegan Prius drivers in awe.
Say hello to the 2011 Toyota Prius, a plug-in hybrid model that leverages a lithium-ion battery for 14.5 miles of all electric travel (for speeds under 60 miles per hour). Once the battery charge is all used up, the Prius uses a gasoline engine (like a traditional hybrid car) to extend the useful range, which is said to reach 870 miles. Libertyville Toyota fans will be in for a real treat when they get a chance to test-drive this new innovation from the Japanese manufacturer leading the way in fuel-efficiency.
The Prius plug-in hybrid will be in for some stiff competition when it launches in 2011. Chevrolet’s main competitor, the Volt, is sure to tempt Prius Waukegan drivers into a test-drive. The Volt may beat the Prius is useful battery range (40 miles), but the Prius hybrid capabilities should give it a leg up in its overall useful range. Most likely, the two cars will be targeted at different demographics; while the Volt will make more sense for daily commuters with a short drive, the Prius is likely to make waves with the “long commute†and “constantly traveling†crowds.
Regardless, Round Lake used cars dealers are crossing their fingers for the success of the new Toyota Prius; the current Prius gets the best fuel economy on the market after a stretch of a few years, and it seems that no manufacturer can even get close to beating the Prius. I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
