Is a Dell XPS m1530 any good?
I’m looking to buy a laptop, and I’ve been poking’ along and I came across HP. Mac and Dell. Apples seemed to expensive and HP weren’t good enough for the price, although better than the macs specs (I looked at a regular macbook).
I saw the Dell XPS series and I found a Dell XPS m1530 which fit my price range. I customized it with these specs,
Intel Core 2 duo Processor 2.2 GHz
Vista home premium
4gb of memory shared dual channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 dimms)
250gb 5400rpm sata rad drive
256mb Nvidia Geforce 8600m gt(which i know is good for a laptop)
85 WHr-9 cell Lituim Ion Primary Battery
I was wondering if this was any good for $1,600 and if there is something better in Canada? Considering i live there.
Don’t tell me to raise my price to 2,000 and plus I’m not a graphics designer so i don’t need a mac because i know macs are very good for those things.
And also can you put the link somewhere in Canada because i really don’t want huge shipping charges. Thanks.
That is the one I just bought. It is the highest rated laptop in consumer reports.
I got the 2.5 Chip with 6 cache(T9300), the key is the faster cache it will cast U an extra 125 dollars but it will be worth it.
The chip U are talking about is the T7500, spring for the faster one.
You should get a 7200 rpm drive, the 5400 may not be up to snuff.

With Vista, you will be glad you got 4G ram, it is only 100 bucks more than 2 gigs so get that
