Front Bezel
Can you change the back cover front bezel of a laptop to a different model?
I have a HP ze4100 series notebook and want to change the screen housing. The original back cover front bezel is easily scratched and downgrades the appearance. I know the screen size would have to be the same but how would I find out if everything will fit? Where can I find more information of this?
You generally cannot change it to anything other than the original. Parts like that are specific to that particular model, and will not fit others and vice versa. Go to sleeze bay, there are sellers there that will probably have brand new lid and bezel kits for your specific model, and won’t charge you the arm and a leg that HP will.
I just performed this same thing for my IBM ThinkPad. $15 on sleeze bay got me a brand spanking new lid and bezel that was an exact replacement part for my model Thinkpad.
