TV Tuner Satellite Cards – Are they only for Free To Air?
Is there a PC TV/Satellite Card that I can use for encrypted chanels. In particular I want to watch (and record) Digital+ and Cabo (Spanish & Portugese) on Hispasat. They use NAGRA2 encryption.
Great question.
I’m familiar with PC Satellite Tuner Cards but ?? not sure if ever used for encrypted channels, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be done . ??? I just never heard or read about it.
Even if it was possible ,your biggest obstacle would be getting channels from Digital + and TV Cabo , those signals from Hispasat are aimed at Europe ONLY .
So if you live in the USA , you can only get the channels for Hispasat North America , which include channels from Spain , Cuba , Argentina , Colombia .
Here’s a link for Lyngsat with all the Hispasat Channels , to the right you will see what region ( beam ) they can be seen from , Example: Europe or Americas .

Oh and if you wish to get Hispasat from USA hopefully you live near the Mississippi river or east of it , because if you’re just a little west it will be very hard to impossible to get due to the satellite being so far east it is below the horizon.
