will any polarizer fit on my canon lens?
I have a canon DSLR. if I bought a promaster polarizer, would it fit on the lens?
Look on the front of your lens. There will be a symbol that is a circle with a line through it. Next to that is a measurement in mm. That is the filter size. You need a filter to match that. If it says 72mm, you need a 72mm filter.
My guess is that you have the EF-S 18-55mm kit lens. IIRC, that lens takes a 58mm filter. Buy a quality one (Hoya and Tiffen make great filters). Also, as other posters said, you must get a circular polarizer for a digital camera. Linear will NOT work.
