How do I connect an external hard drive with out formatting?

I have a hard drive in a hard drive case. It was working perfectly fine for months, but all of the sudden i can’t find it in “My Computer.” My PC makes the sound everytime i connect/disconnect it so I know it can find it. I would just like to know how to make it accessible again with out formatting it, all if the data on there is impossible to et back again. If it matters its a dynex hard drive case. Thanks

If you have Linux this is easy enough… If not then try this…

Go into device manager…
Find the Universal Serial bus controller… Click the PLUS
Find the one which says advanced/enhanced… Right click
Disable and then retart (Only if it asks)…
Plug in your drive… it will be VERY slow but chances are it will work… IF not then you need a linux live CD so we can walk you through that… I think it’s either the usb 2.0 part that’s broken or the partition table…
