digital card adapters

Can I plug a SD card into a CF adaptor and plug that into a xD adaptor which fits in my digital camera?
I have hundreds of SD cards but my new camera supports only xD cards.
Would it work if i bought a xD adapter that I could slot a CF adaptor into which I could slot a SD into.
That way i would be plugging my xD into my camera but the pictures would be processed through the xD and the CF and into the SD?
Any help guys would be greatly appreciated
Yikes! The image is staggering.
The CF adapter is even larger than the xD card, so that won’t work.
I would have thought you would have upgraded to a camera that uses SD cards … most do. Only Olympus, some Fujifilm and Sony don’t use them.
