Dell Laptop – Advice?

Am looking for a cheap laptop,. Basic things…e-mail, creating worksheets (i’m a teacher) etc etc. Anyone help? Am looking at the £399 one at Dell, see below. Anyone who knows about computers tell me if this is any good?

Yep that’ll do the job you want. Buying Dell for this sort of solution is a good move because the warranty is actualy worth something, and considering just over 1 in 9.8 laptops fail within the first 2 years of their life, that’s a good thing!

One word of advice – when you a buy a laptop, you get a lot less “bang for your buck” so to speak. Laptops are a classic compromise between 3 things;

Energy Efficiency
Portability
Performance.

Generally speaking performance is sacrificed for the first 2 – which means spending less money on a PC and Flat panel will get you a more reliable and faster system.

My advice is if you don’t need the portability, get a desktop!
