cleaning leaking batteries

Hi,
I have a bluetooth-enabled mouse from Mac that uses 2 AA battery. This morning, I’ve cleaned my drawer and found the wireless mouse, which has a leaked battery. I tried to replace it with a new 2 AA battery but unfortunately, when it got connected to the laptop, the pointer gets cranky, it’s like, you’re not moving the mouse but it’s moving by itself, it’s like it has a virus or something. I know that the mouse is working fine by the last time I used it. Is it because of the leaked battery? Will it be normal again, or my mouse is ruined?
chances are that the toxic chemicals has affected something inside the mouse (chances are the circuit board). id recommend wireless mouse that has built in battery like logitech mx revolution.
