Beatles trivia: How do I find information on the girls who used to live outside Paul McCartney’s house?
I remember reading in a book that there was a core group of girls who slept outside Paul McCartney’s London house back in the 60′s, and every now and then he’d toss them stuff or play a song for them – they were almost like an honor guard of obsessed fans. Any information?

They were called the Apple scruffs.
The Beatles’ song “She Came In Through the Bathroom Window” (1969) was actually about the day that some of the Apple Scruffs climbed into Paul McCartney’s house through an upstairs bathroom window and went through his closet for a pair of pants which they took turns wearing. Yep, They were groupies who would sleep outside his house and they were obsessed fans.
