He was subsequently promoted to be Head of Office for the Italian Army Chief of Staff based in Rome. He also served in Sicily and was transferred to Beijing as the Defense Attache. Later on, he returned to serve with NATO in the peacekeeping Kosovo force. He has been awarded with numerous commendations for service to his country.
