Audio DVD vs CDs ? Help this is confusing !!?
I was going to order a CD on Amazon.com (Beatles Love CD) and they offered “just” the music CD for one price, and then a package of both the music CD and something called the “Audio DVD” along with it for about 2x the price – what in the world is an “audio DVD”? I thought any music CD would play ok on your DVD player ? whats the purpose or advantage (if any) of an “audio DVD” over the same music on a regular CD ?? This is confusing me big time. I am sure there is no “video” to watch on the ‘audio DVD’ – it does not state that there is video on it. Can someone help me understand what this audio dvd is and why a person would want it instead of a CD ??
DVD Audio is a format that surfaced several years ago, but forgot to die. Audio DVD’s can’t be played on CD players, or even most DVD players. DVD Audio offers a real sound improvement, but as you probably figured out by now, very few people ever adopted it. It is almost as much an orphan as HDDVD.
