Battery Fru
Will a replacement battery for any IBM Thinkpad work with my IBM Thinkpad T23?
The fru number on mine is 02K6572. Most of the ones I find online are either (1)not that number, but supposedly work with the T23 or (2) have that fru number, but say that it works with the T30.
Also, have been losing time on the machine. The CMOS battery appears pretty easy to replace. Is that the first troubleshooting place to look?
Some of the IBM fru numbers are interchangeable with other systems, but not all are created equal. For a replacement that is garaunteed to work I recomend http://www.geeks.com and http://www.pricewatch.com both are reliable. As for losing time, your CMOS battery is probably dying and will need to be replaced. Be careful when working in the case as the ribbon cables are know to not reseat properly. Hope this helps
