Why does my car make a clicking sound./sputtering sound when I apply the gas pedal?

I got off the highway after the car drove fine on the Washington St. exit in Woburn, MA heading back to Winchester. All of the sudden my car makes a clicking sound from the right when I apply the gas pedal . the clicking sound sounds like when your ignition doesnt work because your battery is dead. this got louder and louder and it began to sputter as I drove….and would grind a few times when i slowed down. About a week ago my brakes/wheels were squeaky but I thought this was fine….then this happens. It just keeps making this horribly loud clicking and sputtering sound on the right….as I apply the gas pedal.
Anyone know what might be happening?

sounds like a valve is sticking to me, usually cased by a failing valve seal. If the clicking gets faster and louder as you excellerate, this is the problem, get it fixed right away, it can cost you a bondle if you don’t.
