If a batteries water cell is low, will that make a battery not hold a charge for very long?
My truck battery has had a hard time holding a charge when it sits and i dont drive it for a day or 2. I was wondering how often the water needed to be checked on a battery.
If the battery has two individual caps that can be pried upward it’s a good policy to check for distilled water twice per yr. Much depends on the charge-back rate of the alternator concerning how thirst the battery is. If you have an alternator that’s constantly charging above 14.0 volts the poor old battery is going to boil off water.
If you haven’t replaced your battery within the bast 4-5 yrs. Have a load test done on it or check the state of charge with a hydrometer.
