10 Ways to Extend Your Cordless Phone’s Battery Life
A battery is an electrochemical cell used in many of electronic gadgets and appliances. These batteries transform their stored energy and gradually get exhausted over time and due to repeated usage. Those batteries that can be used multiple times upon recharging are called rechargeable batteries. Batteries that have to be disposed after single use are called the non reachable batteries.
Unlike corded phones, cordless phones give us the freedom to move around while we talk over a phone. Cordless phones can be used anywhere within a limited range of the base station. The base station is connected to a fixed telephone line and communicates with the handset through radio waves. The handset consists of a rechargeable battery that can be charged by placing the headset in the charging cradle of the base station.
The following ten tips show the ways to extend cordless phone’s battery life.
1. Allow the cordless phone batteries to charge completely when you start to use your phone.
2. Before you charge the handset, allow the cordless phone batteries to discharge absolutely. This will enhance the life span of the batteries.
3. Do not expose the batteries to extreme hot and cold conditions.
4. Do not handle batteries with wet hands. Also cordless phone batteries should not be exposed to excess moisture.
5. Clean the battery terminals of the handset and base connector clean and prevent accumulation of dust.
6. Do not leave the batteries unused for a longer period of time as this would lessen the battery life.
7. Re-condition and service your batteries every time it is been kept idle for a very long time.
8. Use only the necessary phone options and accessories related to your phone.
9. Do not toss, drop, misuse, or tamper with cordless phone batteries.
10. Do not open the battery contents or alter the battery case.
11. Do not use your cordless phone near high-frequency appliances, such as a microwave, TV, or computer. This will also increase the battery’s lifespan.
