How much amps does it take to start a F-250 Diesel engine with a battery charger?
I need to buy one but don’t know how much amps I will need to turn over the F-250 7.3 liter diesel engine.

You will need a lot more amps than 1 battery charger on start will provide. Usually it takes about 400 amps to get them puppies to think about starting.. depending upon the 7.3 (If it’s a powerstroke it needs a lot more power to boost up the oil pressure to fire it off)
Usually it takes 2 battery chargers, but usually a stone dead Ford diesel takes 2 professional jump start batteries to kick them over good.
If you are willing to wait to charge the batteries first, any battery charger will work (preferably one that can charge at 40 amps or so continous , but be prepared to wait half a day to start it if the batteries are still good)
