Dangers of disposing a battery?
Hey, so i have two questions here:
[a] Explain why it is dangerous to toss old batteries in the garbage?
[b] What is a better alternative to tossing old bartteries in the garbage? Explain why.

If a battery is not completely exhausted, there is a possibility that it may cause sparks and heating of some metallic materials (eg. a wire wool scourer).
The other issue is pollution, such as Cadmium from NiCd and the trace of mercury used before most ordinary batteries became “0% Hg”.
Recyling is rather patchy in many countries, but would be a better solution.
