How many amps AC does it take to power a small automotive battery charger?
Power = Volt x amp.
So given the wall is 120V and the car is 12v, it take only about 1/10 the AC current (compared to the battery charging current).
So if I was charging my battery at 10 AMP (DC). The then AC is running at only about 1 amp AC.
