Help with 1988 Mercedes 300E?

I have a 1988 Mercedes 300E and I am in dire need of a mechanic to tune up and provide a quick fix to get my car through emissions in Colorado.
Does anyone out there know a good, affordable (I’m on a very tight budget) mechanic who could work on my car?
I also need to replace the battery and have found it to be quite a bit more expensive than a regular one – I could use a little insider help on where to find the cheapest batteries and alternators for this kind of car.

FYI, I am located in Arvada Colorado.

For your emission test replace the air filter, and use a fuel system cleaner called BG 44K. Add the fuel system cleaner to a tank of fuel, drive until it’s almost gone, and fill it up with premium fuel before you get your car re-tested. I’ve found that, in Colorado, it sometimes makes a difference which lane you choose at the testing station. Choose a lane in the middle of the facility, not on the end!
The other step you should take is to make sure the engine and exhaust are good and hot when you get tested. The catalytic converter needs to be hot to do its job, so drive the car at least 10 miles before you get tested.
For an inexpesive battery, there is a used battery store on West 44th a few blocks west of Wadsworth.
