Why can alkaline batteries might exploded if recharged ?
why can they explode when recharged . don’t say they are not rechargeable. i want to know what happens in a alkaline battery is that not rechageable when recharged.
Within the battery, there is a thin membrane that acts as a salt bridge. In order for a battery to work properly, there must be a way to balance the charges of the electrodes. the alkaline battery is made small so that it is easily portable. if you overcharge a battery or charge it with too high of a voltage or current, the salt bridge can be damaged and cause the battery to fall apart. the article below also has more info. I wouldn’t suggest recharging nonrechargable batteries unless you are fully aware of the chemistry behind the entire battery.
