What is a good digital camera to buy that doesn’t “eat” batteries?
My digital camera goes through batteries like every few hours. Does anyone know why that is?

The Li-ion batteries are the state of the art batteries and are used by the professional level DSLR’s and have the longest lasting charges as well as lasting for up to 5 years.
The NiMH AA’s while fine if you are not shooting over 200 images or so at a time, do not hold their charges (even when not being used) very long.
No matter which you have, charging the batteries the night before you plan on shooting and using good energy management is always the best way to keep your batteries working longer.
* Keep the LCD off as much as possible
* If possible, use the camera’s viewfinder to compose the images.
* Turn off the camera when not in the immediate process of taking photos.
* Try to refrain from “showing” your photos to your friends using the LCD.
