Netbook Alternatives: Acer Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ-4174 11.6-Inch Laptop
Specifications: All of us love netbooks. They are very affordable, stylish and extremely functional. The only shortcoming with netbooks is that you can only expect to perform light computing tasks on it. If you need a little more computing power (yet cherish the portability of a netbook), do consider getting an ultra-slim netbook. The Acer Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ-4174 for instance, is an excellent laptop alternative. It is a 11.6-inch laptop that comes with a 320GB hard drive, 3GB of RAM and a Intel Pentium SU4100 processor. Despite being almost as powerful as a full-featured laptop, it weighs in at only 3.1 pounds and is about 1-inch in thickness. The 11.6 LED back-lit screen is a HD display and it also comes with a HDMI port and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity.
Design: The Acer Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ-4174 measures at about 11.2 x 8.03 x 1 inches. It sports Acer’s signature design, with smooth curves and clean lines. I particularly like the blue model. The blue casing is nicely contrasted by a black keyboard and black screen bezel.
Features & Performance: The new Acer Timeline laptop series highlights their battery life as one of the biggest selling points. The battery on the AS1810TZ-41 can last up to an astonishing 8 hours on one full charge, which is very good by any laptop/netbook standards. The new Windows 7 OS was speedy and just a delight to use. After testing it on a variety of computing tasks, we found that this laptop model performed flawlessly for a variety of moderate computing tasks. It would make a perfect work/play laptop for anyone who is constantly on the go. At the moment, the Acer Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ-4174 is price at just around $549 per unit.
